The Light Above


The Light Above is a nine-month graduation project developed by a team of five students specialized in Game Art and Game Design. We chose to focus on a narrative and contemplative experience supported by a hand-painted art direction and the exploration of a mysterious island. 

Our goal is to bring this production to completion and release a free playable version on Steam by 2026.

Play Cléo

A young woman who leaves her daily life to discover the island of Soloni.

Pitch

Cléo, a young woman tired of her urban and dreary daily life, decides to leave everything behind to become a lighthouse keeper on the small isolated island of Soloni in the Mediterranean.

Drawn by the promise of a peaceful life, she will soon be confronted with a series of strange events of which she will be the only witness and must find the source.

The Village

A welcoming level to encourage the player to explore and discover the universe in which the player will evolve.

The Villa

An oppressive level in which the stress increases as the player progresses. From the beginning, we can see our objective to reach.

The interior of the Villa

The interior of the villa is meant to be calm and revealing of the story, a level we chose not to pursue to focus on the realization of the two main levels.
